Job Description: Technical Writer (Up to 8 Years Experience)
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer with up to 8 years of experience to create clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation. The role requires strong communication skills, technical understanding, and the ability to collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure documentation accuracy and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation Development: Create and maintain user manuals, API documentation, developer guides, and product release notes.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and QA teams to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear documentation.
Accuracy & Clarity: Ensure all documentation is technically accurate, consistent, and easy to understand for diverse audiences.
Repository Management: Organize and maintain documentation repositories, version control, and knowledge bases.
User Research: Gather feedback from users to improve documentation usability and relevance.
Standards & Style: Adhere to established style guides and contribute to documentation standards.
Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in documentation and proactively update or create new content.
Required Skills
Writing & Communication: Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with attention to detail.
Documentation Tools: Proficiency in tools such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or similar.
Design Tools: Familiarity with Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools for integrating visuals into documentation.
Version Control: Experience with Git/GitHub for managing documentation repositories.
Simplification: Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Technical Understanding: Basic knowledge of APIs, software development processes, and system architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with markup languages (Markdown, reStructuredText, AsciiDoc).
Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman).
Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and knowledge bases (SharePoint, Notion, Confluence).
Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments and sprint-based documentation cycles.
Ability to create visual aids (diagrams, flowcharts) using tools like Lucidchart or Visio.
