Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Governance Officer with hands-on experience in establishing and operationalizing data governance frameworks. The role involves full lifecycle involvement, working closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and implement data governance frameworks across business domains

• Lead data governance initiatives for multiple clients, from design to execution

• Define and maintain business glossaries, data definitions, and ownership models

• Design and enforce data quality frameworks, standards, and controls

• Support the implementation and adoption of the proposed data governance tool

• Collaborate with data owners, stewards, architects, and business stakeholders

• Ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements (GDPR, internal policies)

• Monitor data quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives

• Act as a key contributor with full end-to-end involvement in governance activities

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Governance

• Proven experience in establishing data governance at least two client organizations

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Business Glossaries

  • Data Quality Frameworks

  • Data Governance tools (hands-on with proposed/selected tools)

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Ability to translate business requirements into governance standards

Language Requirements (Mandatory)

• Dutch (NL): Fluent

• French (FR): Fluent

• English (EN): Professional working proficiency

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated industries (banking, insurance, public sector)

• Familiarity with enterprise data management concepts

• Experience working in Belgian or EU-based organizations
