Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) Engineer with 7+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, data cataloging, and enterprise data management solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in implementing and supporting Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), specifically Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC), to enable effective data discovery, governance, lineage, and compliance across enterprise data ecosystems.

The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, data stewards, architects, and governance teams to establish and maintain a robust data governance framework that supports business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC) solutions.
• Configure and manage enterprise data catalogs, metadata repositories, business glossaries, and governance workflows.
• Develop and maintain automated metadata harvesting and cataloging processes across multiple data sources.
• Implement data lineage, impact analysis, and metadata management capabilities.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to define governance policies, standards, and data stewardship processes.
• Support data governance initiatives by establishing data ownership, classification, and quality controls.
• Configure and manage business glossary terms, reference data, and governance workflows.
• Enable data discovery and self-service analytics through effective catalog management.
• Monitor metadata ingestion processes and resolve cataloging and governance-related issues.
• Conduct data governance assessments and recommend improvements to governance maturity.
• Create and maintain governance documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
• Support regulatory and compliance initiatives through metadata visibility and data lineage tracking.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot CDGC platform issues.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have Skills

• 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Cataloging, or Enterprise Data Management.
• Strong hands-on experience with Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).
• Extensive experience with Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC).
• Experience configuring and managing:
  • Data Catalog
  • Business Glossary
  • Data Lineage
  • Metadata Management
  • Data Classification
  • Governance Workflows
• Experience integrating CDGC with cloud and on-premises data platforms.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance frameworks and best practices.
• Experience with metadata harvesting from databases, data warehouses, ETL platforms, and cloud applications.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with enterprise data environments.
• Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with other Informatica IDMC services such as:
  • Cloud Data Integration (CDI)
  • Data Quality (DQ)
  • Master Data Management (MDM)
• Experience with cloud platforms:
  • AWS
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Synapse, or BigQuery.
• Familiarity with enterprise governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
• Experience supporting data governance councils and stewardship programs.
• Informatica CDGC or IDMC certifications preferred.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Management, or a related discipline.

• Experience with enterprise-wide data governance transformations.
• Exposure to regulatory compliance initiatives including GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239, or similar frameworks.
• Experience leading governance implementations and client-facing workshops.
