Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance & Management Specialist with 6–12+ years of experience to establish, implement, and manage enterprise data governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data governance standards, data quality management, metadata management, master data management, data classification, and privacy practices. This role will support organizations in improving data trust, compliance, accessibility, and business value through effective governance strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement enterprise data governance frameworks aligned with industry standards and business objectives.
• Establish data governance policies, standards, processes, and operating models.
• Define data ownership, stewardship models, and governance responsibilities across business and technology teams.
• Implement data quality management frameworks to improve accuracy, completeness, and reliability of enterprise data.
• Manage metadata, data cataloging, lineage, and business glossary initiatives.
• Support Master Data Management (MDM) strategies and implementation.
• Define and implement data classification and data privacy frameworks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data owners, security teams, and technology teams to ensure effective data governance.
• Monitor governance KPIs, data quality metrics, and compliance requirements.
• Drive adoption of governance practices across enterprise data initiatives.
• Support regulatory compliance and data protection requirements.

Required Technical & Functional Skills

Data Governance Frameworks

• Strong understanding of DAMA-DMBOK or NDMO frameworks and data governance principles.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance operating models.
• Knowledge of data stewardship, ownership, policies, standards, and governance processes.

Data Governance Platforms

• Hands-on experience with Collibra or Alation for:
  • Data catalog management
  • Metadata management
  • Business glossary creation
  • Data lineage tracking
  • Governance workflow management

Data Quality Management

• Experience with Informatica Data Quality (DQ) or comparable data quality tools.
• Strong understanding of data profiling, validation rules, quality monitoring, and remediation processes.

Master Data Management

• Experience implementing Master Data Management (MDM) frameworks and processes.
• Understanding of master data domains, golden records, and data synchronization approaches.

Data Classification & Privacy

• Experience with Data Classification and Data Privacy frameworks.
• Knowledge of sensitive data identification, protection controls, and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of privacy regulations and enterprise data protection practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 6–12+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, or Enterprise Data Management.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and governance practices.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in enterprise environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting large-scale data transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms and modern data ecosystems.
• Familiarity with data security, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience establishing Data Governance Centers of Excellence (CoE).
• Certifications such as CDMP, DAMA, Data Governance, or Privacy certifications are a plus.
