Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Data Model Consultant to design and evolve scalable, high-quality data models within a modern data platform. This role focuses on building and maintaining core (Silver Layer) data models using structured modeling techniques, ensuring consistency, reusability, and alignment with business requirements across domains.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling & Design
- Design and evolve core (Silver Layer) data models within an existing Anchor Modeling framework
- Translate business requirements into well-structured, normalized data models, aligned with source system structures
- Build highly normalized models (3NF / 6NF) for scalable and reusable core data layers
- Ensure consistency, integrity, and reusability of data entities across domains
Data Architecture & Standards
- Apply best practices for historization, change tracking, and auditability
- Contribute to data modeling standards, naming conventions, and governance frameworks
- Support the evolution of enterprise-wide data modeling practices
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure efficient transformations in Snowflake
- Collaborate with business and analytics teams to align models with business needs
- Participate in Agile delivery processes, including sprint planning and tracking via Jira
Data Quality & Documentation
- Support data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes
- Document data models, relationships, and business logic for broader team understanding
- Maintain clear and structured metadata and lineage documentation
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in data modeling for data warehouses on Snowflake
- Expertise in:
- Highly normalized modeling (3NF / 6NF / Core layer modeling)
- Designing scalable and reusable data structures
- Solid understanding of:
- Data integration across multiple source systems
- Change tracking and historization concepts
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and advanced SQL
- Experience working in structured modeling environments or frameworks
- Strong ability to translate business concepts into clean, maintainable data models
- Proven collaboration skills with data engineering and analytics teams
- Experience working in Agile environments using Jira
Nice to Have
- Conceptual understanding of Anchor Modeling (anchors, attributes, ties, historization)
- Experience with Data Vault or other temporally-aware modeling approaches
- Familiarity with Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold layers)
- Exposure to data governance, lineage, and metadata management practices
